WHAT:   Roper St. Francis Ryan White Program and Long’s Pharmacy welcome special guest speaker, Jeanne White Ginder, the mother of Ryan White.  She will be speaking on her son’s legacy and answering questions.

WHEN:  Friday, August 24 at the Riviera Theatre — 225 King Street, downtown Charleston. 

Admittance is free! Event is from 2 - 4 p.m.

Parking is available at the Majestic Square Garage (behind Forever 21) or at the Wentworth Street Public Garage.

RSFH Receives $1 Million For Cancer Wellness

The Roper St. Francis Foundation recently received a transformational commitment of $1 million from the Ronald H. Fielding family of Kiawah Island in honor of the late Donna M. Fielding. This generous, philanthropic gift will enable Roper St. Francis Healthcare (RSFH) to create a comprehensive cancer wellness program to better help patients and their families with the physical, emotional and spiritual needs that often arise when facing this disease. It will be named the Donna Fielding Cancer Wellness Institute in honor of Donna Fielding, who lost her battle with melanoma in 2011.

Eating Out to Help Those with HIV/AIDS

Food and philanthropy are two things the people in the Lowcountry do well. On April 26, the second yearly Dining Out for Life event is combining these strengths to raise money for the Roper St. Francis (RSF) Ryan White Program — a federally funded program that helps coordinate comprehensive medical care for people living with HIV/AIDS.

“Most people know someone affected by HIV/AIDS,” said Ella Fleming, Charleston Dining Out for Life co-chair. “Joining this palate-satisfying fundraiser will help improve the quality and availability of primary healthcare for those with HIV/AIDS.”
