Edisto offering up a plethora of events for the spring season
With spring on the horizon, the Edisto Island and Edisto Beach communities are marking the shift with events.
First up is the Edisto Eats Food Festival, on March 16 at McConkey’s Jungle Shack. The Arts and Crafts Fair will begin at 11a.m. The 3rd Annual Chefs Competition will be held at 2:00 p.m., followed by a community oyster roast at 4:30 p.m. Live music will start up at noon.
In conjunction with the Edisto Eats Food Festival, the 2nd Annual Edisto Beach Road Race will get the day off to a high-energy start. The race will commence at 8:30 a.m. and run on beach streets and along Big Bay Creek. For registration information, visit www.edistochamber.com.

Stevens Towing Co. Announces Appointment of New President
Yonges Island, S.C. -- The Board of Directors of Stevens Towing Co., Inc., recently elected W. Johnson Stevens, III, to serve as the new president of the company, succeeding his father, William J. “Bill” Stevens, Jr. Bill will serve as chairman of the board and as chief executive officer. The new posts reflect a planned leadership transition for the younger Stevens, son of the former president, to become the fourth generation of the Stevens family to head Stevens Towing. Johnson joined the company in 2007 and has served in a broad range of operations and management positions there over the years.

Marsh holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina and plans to pursue her master’s in accounting from the College of Charleston later this year, for which an internship is required for admittance. Winter wonderland and a very coastal Christmas are coming to Edisto
With annual spring events just over the horizon
Edisto Island, S.C. -- The Edisto Island and Edisto Beach communities are busy making a list and checking it twice for all the events falling into place, just in time for the holidays. They’re also looking ahead to what stands to be a robust winter / spring season soon behind.
In celebration of the holidays, the Edisto Island Serpentarium will be open Friday and Saturday nights, through December 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., for the second annual Christmas lights display. The atrium and outdoor area will be open and decorated. After viewing the holiday lights, visitors may enjoy sipping hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows over an open fire.
