Smithsonian to preserve, display Edisto slave cabin
After local restoration attempts failed, one of the last standing slave cabins in the Lowcountry was headed for imenent collapse — until the Smithsonian Institution stepped in to save the Edisto Island structure at Point of Pines.

Carteret Street Catholic reopens after extensive rennovation
The small Catholic chapel on Carteret Street has received months of long overdue repairs and renovations and reopened on Friday.
St. Peter's Chapel, built in 1846, was been closed since 2007.
