Alice Cooper throws first pitch for RiverDogs; rain suspends game in the fourth

Update June 11: The South Atlantic League game between the Charleston RiverDogs and the Savannah Sand Gnats was halted due to rain in the bottom of the fourth inning on Sunday evening.

The weather didn’t clear up, unfortunately, and forced the game to be suspended. It will be resumed in Savannah on Monday, June 11.

The game was stopped in the bottom of the fourth inning with Savannah leading 1-0 and two men on base for Charleston, one out and Angelo Gumbs at the plate with a 2-0 count. It will be restarted at that point in Savannah.

First reporting: For four decades Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Alice Cooper has been able to strike chords with music lovers. Now we'll get the chance to see if he can throw a strike.

The legendary performer, who is in town for a Monday night concert at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center, will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Charleston RiverDogs-Savannah Sand Gnats game on Sunday, June 10th, at 5:05 p.m.
