The race for S.C.'s 1st district has 12 candidates (updated: two more jump in)

Update February 15: The race of twelve just got a bit more crowded, coming to 14 with the addition of two more Republican candidates.

The Charleston City Paper's Greg Hambrick has done a keen and lighthearted breakdown of the situation; read it here.

First reporting: With the addition of Republican Mark Lutz, there's now 12 candidates vying for the Mount Pleasant-to-Myrtle Beach 1st Congressional District seat being vacated by Henry Brown.

The Post and Courier is the best bet for more on the latest in those running for the seat. The paper also has another story about how the eight Republican candidates are struggling to distinguish themselves.
