Update August 11: In all the accident took some 9 hours to be cleared and driver of both tractor trailers were taken to the hospital.
While one driver was taken to MUSC in fair condition, NBC News 2 is reporting that the second driver, 48-year-old Robbie Clark of Summerville, had a more serious conidtion but is now listed as "good."
First reporting August 10: A collision of two tractor trailers early this morning still has easttbound lanes of I-26 closed down near the Ashley Phosphate Road overpass.
The two trucks colided near 3:30 a.m. and the wood chip contents of one trailer erupted in flames.
Traffic is still backed up for miles headed into Charleston (see image to right) and on Rivers Avenue — in short, if you can avoid driving into town this morning, that'd be wise.
