A 12-year-old student at Charleston's C.E. Williams Middle School has been arrested, suspended and possibly expelled for brining an unloaded air gun to school on October 7. And I'm not talking about a gun shape you can make with your hand.
A BB air gun. After a another student told a teacher about the gun, the police came, arrested him and then put him in his mother's custody.
Although air guns can be used for hunting and can be very dangerous, the Post and Courier explains that they are considered toy guns:
Police charged the student with possession of a concealed toy pistol, the report said. The gun is not considered a real gun under law, authorities said.
