Fields to Families charity earns 'angel' mark in annual state list

Some charities are nice with your donated dollars, and some aren't, letting the cost of doing business gobble up your donations. 

So each year the South Carolina Secretary of State releases a list of charities operating in South Carolina and tells of the top Angels and the top Scrooges. This year Ladson charity, Fields to Families, posted an impressive 98.5% donation-to-deed rate.

The charity helps to ease area hunger by organizing volunteers to collect food directly from farm fields or local gardeners. 

Kiawah Island Natural Habitat Conservancy also made the list with an 80.8% rate.

No other Charleston-metro charities made the good or bad lists. (Those recognized below are listed in alphabetical order, and are not ranked by the Secretary of State.)
