Yesterday, members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals took to the streets of downtown Charleston dressed as condoms to promote neutering and spaying dogs and cats.
Holding signs that read, "Condoms won't work, fix your dog or cat!", two members of PETA stood at the intersection of King and George Streets handing out leaflets regarding the importance of neutering and spaying pets.
They cited sterilization as a key component of battling the animal overpopulation crisis the United States is experiencing today and noted the millions of unwanted animals who die in shelters or on the street.
