The Hospitality Management Group Inc. team is proud to announce that executive pastry chef Andrea Upchurch will now oversee pastry production at all three HMGI restaurants, Blossom, Cypress and Magnolias.
“We are very excited about Andrea’s new role at Cypress,” says TJ Parsell, president of Hospitality Management Group, which operates the three restaurants. “Andrea’s work over the past eight years with our company has proven not only her incredible talent, but also her leadership abilities. We know that she has great things in store for Cypress and look forward to seeing what she produces in all three kitchens in the years to come.”
Upchurch is a South Carolina native whose strong desire to cook led her to the Culinary Art Institute of Charleston, where she developed her passion for pastry. She began her culinary career with Cypress and Magnolias as assistant pastry chef in 2005, and was quickly promoted to executive pastry chef at Blossom and Magnolias. After spending eight years overseeing the production of all pastries, pastas and bread at Blossom and Magnolias, this recent appointment has Upchurch running the pastry program at Cypress as well.
