Update April 28th: Just got word that the beer dinner at Ted's has been postponed and will be rescheduled soon. So I hope any & everybody that made it to Carolina's tonight had a good time!
If you're hungry and thirsty all at the same time, downtown is the place for you this week as Carolina's is hosting a Belgian beer dinner on Wednesday and Ted's Butcherblock is hosting an all-organic beer dinner on Thursday.
Carolina's will provide its requisite five-course meal with pairings against the Belgian beers of St. Bernardus, a traditional Abbey-style brewery from West Flanders in operation for over 60 years with a very serious reputation. The dinner will feature the stalwart lineup of Wit, Pater 6, Prior 8, Tripel, and Abt 12. Call (843) 724-3800 for details and reservations. 10 Exchange Street.
Head north on Thursday at 7:15 p.m. to Ted's Butcherblock for a four-course beer dinner highlighting organic beer from a number of different breweries. You can read the full menu here, but the featured brews are Bison Organic Honey Basil, Schneider Wiesen Edel-Weisse, Brasseire Dupont Foret, and Samuel Smith's Organic Strawberry Fruit Beer. Seats are $38 + tax & tip. Call (843) 577-0094 for more details and reservations. 334 East Bay Street.
