Gratisphere II, (A Sci-Fi Burlesque) Sequel

Gratisphere II, the sequel to the 2010 sci-fi burlesque show, will be this weekend, February 24 and 25 at Cool Daddy's Bar and Grill.

The original, highly successful, Gratisphere took place at The Basement, which closed this past year. Gratisphere II is a, "Part high-brow social satire, part low-brow sex farce, "Grat II" takes place in the distant future, where society has rigidly split along class lines. Hapless upper-classer Epsilon 9 has created social chaos by falling for lower-classer dancer, Myah 69, bringing him into conflict with the despotic autocrat, Queen "B"."

The brains behind Gratisphere is Phil Fox, a local musician turned play-write and director. Besides Gratisphere, Fox has written and produced a handful of plays in the area, "Down For The Summer" and  "Scorpio's Kiss" to name a few.

Tickets are $10 at the door, but if you play along and dress in some sci-fi or burlesque garb you'll receive $3 off. There are two showings scheduled for each night.  The 9 p.m. is for those age 18 and up.  The 11 p.m. show is for those age 21 & up.  Shows are roughly one hour long, boasting all new music and five hot dance sequences.
