An employee at the U.S. State Department passport office in North Charleston has been charged and accused of illegally accessing passport application records of celebrities.
Yvette M. Burrison of Summerville is facing a maximum penalty of up to one year in federal prison and a fine of $100,000 for the misdemeanor. Head over to The Post and Courier for the breaking story.
Update October 28:
The Post and Courier reports that Yvette M. Burrison pleaded guilty to viewing the passport applications of 98 actors, musicians, comedians, models and athletes over a three year span.
Sentencing has yet to be determined.
