For children, experiencing art in an full-time, art-making place is a unique experience. But it's not a rare experience in Beaufort, because of the scholarships from a private family foundation that are available for children to attend the after school program at ARTworks.
The next seven week session begins January 18th, and some classes are getting full— so register soon. The classes are taught by experienced artists who can convey their creative process while providing all the materials and elbow room that kids need to create awesome art. The session ends with a Family Showcase— artwork on the walls, kids performing on stage, and smiling parents (and cookies for the kids!)
Here's the winter session catalog (please call 379-2787 or visit for availability and registration):Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Nature Art! ~ Visual Arts with Sunny Birney ~ ages 6-9. This class is designed to introduce children to the importance of recycling through innovative and creative art experiences.
