Updated April 1: Well you had to figure it was just a matter of time, but just a few days after County Councilwoman Laura Von Harten apologized for suggesting the Heritage should become a "chocolate-covered festival," her comments have gained attention from The Times-Picayune in New Orleans.
That's because Von Harten claims Mayor Ray Nagin was her muse for the interesting comments.
You can check out the Times-Picayune's coverage of the "chocolate gaffe" as it terms it by clicking here.
Reported March 30: Beaufort County Council woman Laura Von Harten after telling fellow board members in a March 28 meeting that the Heritage golf tournament should become a "chocolate-covered festival."
Von Harten, who claimed that her comment was inspired by inspired by Mayor Ray Nagin's "chocolate city" speech to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina devastated the area, apologized for any offense she may have caused, but stood by what she used the comment for; that the Heritage Golf Tournament should ditch its Scottish theme and replace it with a Gullah one.
