New CARTA bus, train, taxi hub looks to the past (update: same idea but new plan coming)

Update December 3: The Post and Courier is reporting that thanks to the recent $6 million grant, plans are being scraped for the public-private partnership (shown above) and a new solely transportation oriented vision is taking shape and officials are trying to decide how to capitalize on the now extra land; get the story over here.

The project has been a long time in the making, back in April land preparation began.
Update September 12: It's sounding like the results
of a needed grant application will be known in the next month (or two),
and the competition is pretty heavy.

Update October 3: While they didn't get the $10 million CARTA was hoping for, $6 million is coming down the pipe for the center and The Post and Courier is reporting that should be enought to move ahead.
