It's hot: Charleston bound plane gets stuck as runway melts

Who cares if it's hot enough to fry an egg out?

For a better effect, combine a loaded down plane with consecutive days of 95+ degree temperatures.

Result?

Soft asphalt that sinks four inches, and lands a post with the caption "Why is my flight cancelled? Because DC is so damn hot that our plane sank 4" into the pavement."

Three hours later — with a bigger tow vehicle secured — Friday evening's 50-seat US Airways flight was headed to Charleston.
