For some time now both Roper St. Francis and Trident Health Systems have wanted to place hospitals in the fast-growing Summerville area.
But two hospitals are more competition and less patronage for each -- which isn't good for business. And so a bit of a turf war has emerged between the two, with hopes that the state will only allow one hospital to be built.
