Y.E.S.: Youth unite for the environment

On Friday, May 22, nearly 400 students will get a chance to help out the environment by growing native plants, eliminating the use of plastic, increasing recycling efforts, and protecting sea turtles at Earth Force's 11th Annual Youth Environmental Summit (Y.E.S.)

The summit will be held at River Front Park in North Charleston from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include presentations from each school's project, lunch, and interative stations provided by 20 community partners. Participating schools and their respective projects are as follows:

Belle Hall Elementary -- SAIL Band
Charleston Day School -- SOS (Save our Sea Turtles)
Haut Gap Middle -- Recycle and Reuse Blues
Stiles Point Elementary - Lights Out!
Stono Park Elementary – Cafeteria Composting
James Island Middle -- Baghound Blues; Trash Hurts, Native Plants, Cafeteria Composting & 
   Recycling Gurus
Buist Academy -- Attending, but not presenting
