Come out to Folly Beach to clean it up, and party a little

Folly Beach has been battered and bruised in the alcohol debate, but the problem of trash at a popular beach always persists.

To help fight that problem on Folly, the Barefoot Wine Beach Rescue Project is asking for volunteers to come out on Saturday, August 4, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. for a public cleanup.

Following the cleanup, participants 21 or older will be invited to the Pelican Watch Shelter on Folly Beach from 5 to 7, with Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, tasty beach treats and a live performance by musician Joshua Radin.

You can RSVP for the free event online. Meet at the Edwin S. Taylor Fishing Pier and look for the Surfrider tent.

There's plenty of great Charleston content out there, but it's ever harder to find -- Charleston's TheDigitel is the only place to get linked to the best Charleston content and events.
