CARTA bus fleet could see a $40 million replacement package



The number of folks riding Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) busses continues to increase — topping 4.3 million in 2011 — however also ever increasing is the age of CARTA's 100 busses. 

And now the authority expects they'll all need to be replaced over the next 5 years at a cost of some $40 million.
