Charleston's Sean Brock dukes it out on Iron Chef, loses to Michael Symon
Update December 13:
Unfortunately, Charleston chefs are 0-2 in the Kitchen Stadium.
Sean Brock cheffed the hell out of pork fat in Sunday night's episode, but ultimately, Iron Chef Michael Symon won over the judges.
The Charleston City Paper has a post on Brock's viewing party at The Griffon; read it here.
First reporting:
Apparently December is going to be the month of Charleston on Iron Chef.
FIG's Mike Lata went up against Iron Chef Jose Garces on December 5, and now, Husk's Sean Brock (also a James Beard winner) will finally get his battle against Iron Chef Michael Symon shown on December 12.
Apparently the secret ingredient is one that has Brock excited and that means you should be, too. He said on Twitter, "it's official....watch us battle on iron chef america december 12th....you're gonna love the secret ingredient."
The Post and Courier has a nice post on Brock and his excitement over the upcoming premiere.
Air times are slated for December 12 at 10 p.m., the 13th a 1 a.m., and the 16th at 11 p.m.

I was rooting for you Sean because of my blogger friend, Joan, also a friend of yours. The powdered pork fat was an amazing construct but unfortunately Iron Chef Symon was too much. You'll be back.

Sean should have won, his dishes blew I.C.'s dishes away! And that desert- "Oh My God" Sean you were robbed! You might remember me - friends of Adam and Wendys. I ran the 40Watt Club when you lived in Athens. You kicked but and my wife and i dying to taste your food. Your creations on the show had my mouth watering. Glad to see you're doing great!
