Waterkeeper event addresses the need to Water the Future

Last week, Charleston Waterkeeper, the environmental non-profit organization on a mission preserve and protect the integrity of Charleston’s waterways, held their smashingly successful launch party/community event.

The WTF (Water the Future) event celebrated and promoted the protection, significance and beauty of Charleston's waterways. Touch tanks provided a hands experience with some of the Lowcountry's aquatic critters, a blow up video dome projected a 360 degree version the short film 'Children of the Water,' and two projectors were up and running exciting underwater and above ground visuals of Charleston's waterways.

Cyrus Buffum, the Charleston Waterkeeper, was the man of the hour. Friends, family and supporters of his drive and commitment to protecting our right to clean water were on hand to sing his praises. Buffum has been manning the helm at Charleston Waterkeeper headquarters since September 16th, 2008.

If you didn't have a change to make the event, Rob Brennan did a nice job recording and reporting on the evening. Hop over to YouTube and take a look.

There's plenty of great Charleston content out there, but it's ever harder to find -- Charleston's TheDigitel is the only place to get linked to the best Charleston content and events.
