War Memorial opening ceremonies

The town of Mount Pleasant hosted a moving opening ceremony this weekend for the new War Memorial honoring local soldiers who have lost their lives.

Medal of Honor recipients, the chief of staff of the U.S. Strategic Command and a United States senator spoke at the ceremony. The highlight of the day was the unveiling of a statue with the names of 74 local men who have died in wars.
