Eating local: A guide to being a locavore in Charleston

Not only is eating local foods generally tastier than your days- or weeks-old imported alternatives; it's often better for the environment, and it's dang trendy.

That said, it can often be a tricky business, especially if you don't have your ear to the ground on the local food scene and know the growing seasons. So I was glad to see green-oreinted Charlestonian Nikki Seibert put together a handy online guide to eating local in Charleston.

She does a solid job of equipping you with info on knowing when the growing seasons are and where you can snag local produce (yes, going beyond the Marion Square Farmers Market).

Go take a read here — and maybe drop her a kudos in the comments.

There's plenty of great Charleston content out there, but it's ever harder to find -- Charleston's TheDigitel is the only place to get linked to the best Charleston content and events.
