Charleston's finest dish up meals at Chef's Potluck

The food was fresh, local, and delicious at this year's Lowcountry Local First Chef's Potluck staged at the oak shaded Middleton Place.

The event featured live music, local beer and wine, and some of Charleston’s finest chefs showcasing dishes using local produce.

My personal favorite was the handmade chocolates provided by John Battles of Sweet Teeth that included flavors such as bacon infused, lemon thyme, and parmesan pecan white chocolate.

Lowcountry Local First created the event to spread awareness about their Sustainable Agriculture program and educate the public on the importance of supporting local businesses and farms.

"Independent businesses create wealth by engaging local people in the production, marketing, and consumption of goods, they pay taxes, and reinvest in our communities."
