Marshall Tucker Band to play July 4th
The Spartanburg band will play at North Charleston’s July 4th festival at Riverfront Park.
The Post and Courier is reporting that the city has planned an even larger fireworks show than last year's.
We'll report more as the festival date nears, but it looks like there's no need to get tickets as the event is free.
Last.fm talks about the band and its music:
Originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, the band formed in 1972, and soon signed with Capricorn Records. In 1973 they released their first EP, simply titled "The Marshall Tucker band."
Compared to Southern rock pioneers and label-mates the Allman Brothers Band, Marshall Tucker had a more country and western feel, with the flute being a key lead instrument in their sound.
