Duck nachos and Jaguars: Get strolling at Second Sunday on King Street
Second Sunday on King Street returns this Sunday, August 12, with shopping, music, dining, drinking and strolling -- sans autos, well, except for the Jaguars going on show.
Take to the street for live music, book signings, chances to win gift baskets and bikes, cooking demonstrations, sales, brunch and more.
Here's the line-up for this month:
This month Baker Motor Company's Jaguar West Ashley dealership will showcase a three-vehicle Jaguar display. The display will include a 2012 Jaguar XKR convertible, a 2012 Jaguar XJL and a 2012 Jaguar XF. Look for the beautiful and exciting Jags at Wentworth and King Street.
WCSC TV will be there promoting fitness with representatives from Lighten Up Charleston.
Speaking of food, you can pick up your tickets for September's Southern LivingTaste of Charleston, and register to win free tickets at both the Stage Presence Tent and the 2nd Sunday Information Tent!
Be sure to check out the Living Window Display at Affordables, 305 King Street, where they will also show off their new line of cowboy boots.
Anna Allen will sign her book Diamond Del's Search for the Crown Jewels at the Silver Puffin. Rick Reinert and Kevin LePrince will paint in front of their studio at 179 King Street. Margaret Middleton Rivers Eastman will sign her new book Hidden History of Civil War Charleston 1-3pm at the Preservation Society Book and Gift Shop.
At the 2nd Sunday Information Tent, Ken Burger will be on hand to sign his books and provide free parking vouchers (downloadable online at www.2ndsundayonkingstreet.com). Volunteers fromChase After a Cure will also pitch in at the Information Tent, Chase promotes Childhood Cancer Awareness.
2nd Sunday Musicians will be on the street to provide entertainment. Look for perennial favoriteMichael Lindsey at the Information Tent.
Come to August's 2nd Sunday. It might be hot in Charleston, but it's cool on King Street. See you there!
Second Sunday runs from 1 to 5 p.m. and spans the length of King Street from Calhoun to Queen streets.
