Come help out at the First Day Festival

The 10th annual First Day Festival is coming to entertain and prepare kids for their first day of school, and recruitment is starting now for volunteers.

Every August by attending the Festival, thousands of students celebrate education, and receive school supplies for the new school year. The date for the festival is Sunday, August 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Liberty Square at the S.C. Aquarium and the Charleston Maritime Center.

Volunteers are needed for festival set-up, to assist in the kid's zone, assist with boat rides, festival greeters, line facilitators, to sort school supplies, for water and recycling stations, to assist with parking and traffic, and for exhibitor set-up.

You can register over here or by filling out a hard copy (individual form or group form) and mail it to 50 Broad Street, Charleston, SC 29401 or fax it to (843) 965-4192. Call 965-4190 with questions.

There's plenty of great Charleston content out there, but it's ever harder to find -- Charleston's TheDigitel is the only place to get linked to the best Charleston content and events.
