Update March 11: The Senate has advanced the bill with a 34-9 vote and the anti-illegal immigration bill now heads to the House.

The Post and Courier has a nice profile on the latest turns in the bill's wording and the debate; read the report here.

First reporting March 10: Ten months after South Carolina lawmakers looked to up their game on illegal immigration enforcement, senators have appeared to fall in line behind a new plan.

Head on over to The Greenville News' report to read about it.

Read the bill and get voting history here.
