Before the shows this evening I popped into Hampden Clothing to check out Logan Neitzel's Fall 2010 Trunk Show.

If you’ve been playing luddite or hiding under rocks, Neitzel was cast on the 6th season of Bravo’s Project Runway, alongside Charleston’s Carol Hannah Whitfield.

“I was an artist before I got into fashion,” says a petite, gentle woman, in between sips of her cocktail.

She wears a long, grey coat patterned with blue sequins.  “I jokingly say that I got into fashion because I didn’t want to be a bartender for the rest of my life.  I was tending bar to support my passion for art, then I realized I should get into something easier – fashion.”

That could have been the best decision world-renowned fashion designer Cynthia Rowley ever made....


Ah, Charleston Fashion Week. We’ve missed you!

This year Charleston Magazine brought the heat with its largest production to date. The Style Lounge occupies its own tent this year, with a barrage of retailers such as Theodosia Jewelry, Cavortress, Dixie Dunbar Jewelry and Library. A huge DJ booth looms above an enormous bar in the center of the tent, while Alex Rosen of Spaced Invaders continuously cranks out set after set to giddy attendees.

The first night of Charleston Fashion Week also meant the first night of Charleston Fashion Week after parties.

In an attempt to alleviate the stampede of Charlestonians from the tent to one bar, Charleston Fashion Week decided this year to feature two official after parties each night.

Fish's after partied contained a subdued, but solid, crowd. Notable attendees included Stacy Smallwood, owner of Hampden Clothing; Brooke Ryan, of Two Girls and a Guy; Julie Wheat, of Cavortress; and a handful of models including Rock the Runway...
