Pirate restaurant takes a liking to downtown

Update December 10: The Buccaneer Restaurant is now open.
First reporting: Pirate ship-themed restaurant Queen Anne's Revenge is expanding, opening a restaurant downtown at 5 Faber Street near the Market area.
The restaurant takes its name from Blackbeard's ship. That ship, as well as its lead pirate, spent much time harassing Charleston in the early 1700s.

The original restaurant is on Daniel Island and is "dedicated to the authentic history of piracy along the Carolina coast." They achieve that, in part through kitsch, and through authentic artifacts. The downtown restaurant will occupy the same space as the old City Bar and will have a 1,000 gallon fish tank.
The expected opening date is November 21. Until then: Yarrrr.

I hear great things about this restaurant! The best is that it is South Carolina's only restaurant to join the Green Restaurant Association! They even have a “no plastic” mandate. As well as going green, the owner has a small local farm where most of the produce will come from!

I hadn't heard anything about that. Great to see another restaurant behaving responsibly.
