Las Olas presents: Zapatos for Haiti and Nicaragua

Haiti was just devasted by an earthquake and kids in Nicaragua are in dire need shoes. Downtown Charleston's Las Olas Oceanmarket has taken it upon themselves to get involved in a relief effort, but they need your help.

On Thursday, January 21st, bring a pair of old shoes, sandals, or cleats to Johnson's Pub on and get a raffle ticket. Raffle tickets will also be sold for $5 a piece with all proceeds are going to the American Red Cross and their effort in Haiti and the shoes will be sent to the kids in Nicaragua.

Donating old shoes and $5 is a selfless act that will help better lives of those less fortunate. For your good deed, you'll have a chance of winning a surfboard, a dinner for two at Hall's Chophouse, $50 to the Boathouse Restaurant, $50 to Oak Steakhouse, $50 to 17 North, $50 to Closed for Business, and tons of other prizes too.

If any other local business are wishing to donate to the raffle, please contact Daniel or check out at the Facebook invite.

There's plenty of great Charleston content out there, but it's ever harder to find -- Charleston's TheDigitel is the only place to get linked to the best Charleston content and events.
